COVID-19 Update

To limit the spread of the Coronavirus and to protect our customers, staff, and the wider community, we have taken the decision to close the practice to all routine activities. As of Tuesday the 24th of March. Horrocks & Boyd will be providing support to our customers via the telephone and email, but will only be offering essential eye care in the practice to those with an acute need. We will not be providing routine eye examinations for at least the next 3 weeks, with a view that this period may need to be extended.

This difficult decision has been taken after reviewing expert advice and the directive from NHS England. We greatly appreciate the support that our loyal customers provide, and want to be able to continue to serve you during this challenging time.

The Horrocks & Boyd team will continue to be available on the telephone and via email. Should you have an acute eye or vision related problem please don’t hesitate to make contact. We are able to offer a lot of advice over the telephone. We will be operating a very limited eye care service in the practice for those with potentially serious eye conditions.

Those who currently have spectacles or contact lenses on order with us will be notified as soon as they are ready for delivery. As the practice is temporarily closed, our preferred option is to deliver spectacles by post but are happy to discuss alternative delivery methods. We will, of course, be happy to provide adjustments to spectacles when social distancing advice has been lifted.

Customers who are contact lens wearers can order lenses via the telephone or email as normal. These orders will be delivered direct to the customer, to your preferred address.
